Journey: The Gathering

9:40 a.m., Chapel

What IMPRINT are we as God’s people and His church leaving upon the world around us? We will learn through the book of Ephesians how to practice the resurrection life as a community of faith in the midst of the world around us and how we can leave an IMPRINT of God’s kingdom here and now.

Todd Harrington's message this Sunday is entitled "Grace Matures" based on Ephesians 4:14-16.

Together in Giving & Serving
The Excitement Of Summer

Summer is a time of excitement as most of us look forward to a change of pace and some time away from the normal routines of life.  It is a time of excitement at Dawson because so many of our members are involved in special missions and ministry activities.  Mission trips, choir tours, day camps, local mission activities, and KidLife Week take our attention.

This year KidLife Week will be particularly exciting as for the first time we use the Edgar M. Arendall Building for many of the activities.  This is the fulfillment of much work by many people.  When the building was approved by the church membership, the total cost was not to exceed $8,783,836.  Through the incredible work of the Building Committee, staff, architects and general contractor, and in spite of design changes and improvements, the final cost of the building was $8,490,149, 3.3% below the approved cost.

However, the final cost exceeds the giving commitments, which means there will be some debt on the building.  During June as we celebrate the second anniversary of Legacy of Faith, the campaign to pay for the building through giving over and above normal tithes and offerings, this would be an excellent time for us to consider fulfilling pledges or even giving a little extra to help reduce the debt.

In addition, please remember to give faithfully and generously to the regular Missions and Ministry Budget of the church to help pay the costs of all of the special activities of the summer.  Through your generous giving, the real excitement of summer is found in the lives that are touched through the outreach of the Dawson Family of Faith.

Help Kids Connection Serve Children

Kids Connection has been blessed to have incredible volunteers who have given so much of their time to make it a success.  But we need more volunteers in almost every area of operation.  You can sort donations, help customers shop, keep records, provide spiritual support, publicize the ministry or maintain the facility.  We particularly need more volunteers on Wednesdays to process donations and on Tuesdays and Thursdays to help customers shop.  Please visit us at www.dawsonchurch.org/kidsconnection for more information.
